Access to Art and Design course

Access is specifically designed for adults (aged 19+) with few or no qualifications in art and design as a gateway to higher education. It is aimed at those who have been unable to fulfil their potential earlier in their lives, those whose education has been disrupted by family, financial or personal commitments, and those who have not succeeded in education because of insufficient support or guidance. Access to Design and Fine Art is a foundation level programme to help you develop your confidence and learning potential in order to make a well informed decision regarding your next step in education. It may be studied on a full-time or part-time basis and candidates should show potential to develop competencies in art and design and a genuine commitment to exploration and study.

Access is delivered through a series of lectures and projects involving staff contact time and self directed study time.

As a mature student, Access has helped me fulfil a long term desire to be involved with many aspects of art. I enjoyed the company and the beneficial input into my work from other students and the staff on the course
