Graphic Design has been described as "making an idea visual" and the Visual Communications industry is one of the most important and fastest growing in the country today.
The technological revolution of the last decade has created new and exciting opportunities for graphic designers working in both traditional and digital media. This course aims to equip you to work in this dynamic and competitive industry. Graphic Design at the West Wales School of the Arts The term graphic design is used today to cover a wide range of creative activities involved in publishing, advertising, promotion and display. It incorporates activities ranging form book, magazine and brochure design, creating logos, packaging and displays to motion graphics and interactive media. Individuals may further specialise in particular areas like children’s book illustration or typography, packaging design or digital art etc. The course seeks to equip students to work in this exciting and diverse industry, developing creative attitudes and skills within a variety of media, both traditional and digital.
